HOW TO VOTE
Daniel Allan
Hello!
My name is Daniel (he/him), and I am a third-year psychology student, though you may have also seen me around campus helping out with Curtin Volunteers or one of the too-many research projects I spend my time on.
As a full-time student living in the outer suburbs, juggling multiple jobs and a three-hour commute, I understand that making uni work is hard. That’s why I’m running for Guild Council, to help make Curtin as accessible as possible, because there’s so much more to being a student than simply showing up to class.
If elected, a focus of mine would be improving the services available to students on-campus after-hours, for those of us pulling last-minute all-nighters or waiting desperately for that next bus. I also intend to advocate for improved transport options, to minimise that painful experience when you arrive late to class because your two-hour-long peak-hour slog was elongated by another thirty minutes spent trying to find parking. And for the psychology students, who have been informed mid-way through semester that their exams are changing format with no prior warning, I intend to fight for a more equitable solution.
I am a state debating champion and professional public speaker. I don’t say that to brag, but to make it clear that I’ve been in the hot seat before, and if by being in that position, I can make your journey through university that much smoother, then it’s worth it to me.
