I’m Tahsin Ibn Anowar (he/him), a second-year engineering student, and honoured to be running for International Student Committee President with Illuminate — a passionate, independent, and student-focused team dedicated to making Curtin a more supportive, inclusive, and fair campus.

As an international student who has faced the challenges of settling into a new country, I know how important it is to feel supported, understood, and guided from day one.

In my roles as a Curtin University and Engineers Australia Student Ambassador, a member of the Curtin Volunteers Leadership Team, and Residential Advisor at on campus accommodation& Social Sports Coordinator, I’ve supported diverse student groups, organised inclusive events, and helped foster a vibrant, welcoming campus community.

With your trust, I’ll lead as your ISC President and my key focus will be helping new international students transition smoothly — by providing a clear, welcoming pathway from arrival. From transport guidance to accommodation tips, campus navigation to student services — I want to ensure everything is easy to understand, especially for those facing language barriers. I’ll also work to reduce communication gaps through peer support and multilingual resources. With my experience and dedication, I’m ready to represent your voice, build strong networks, and make everyone feel they truly belong at Curtin.
